My son just upgraded his Shoei RF-1200 helmet to the X-14. The fit went from the RF-1200 in small to a X-14 in medium, the fit is different between the two models with the X-14 being a slightly rounder shape. The X-14 is an excellent helmet feeling lighter and more balanced, the aerodynamics is much improved with noticeably less wind resistance with smoother head checks. The shape is optimized for riding in a tuck but the improvement is apparent for more upright riding as well. Very well ventilated with four distinct controls/openings (but the controls are small and will be hard to use with gloves). The overall build quality is first rate and the internal padding/adjustability is well designed for customized fitting. The windscreen comes with the pinlock EVO insert effective against fogging. This is an excellent, track worthy helmet that works great for everyday use as well; and with the great closeout pricing, what is there not to like?! Of course the purchase with MC.com was seamless (as usual), thanks!
